I can never resist goat curry. It's hard to hunt down a good version in Singapore. I've been going to Kafe Utu for my fix. The goat curry hits a spot with the side of jasmine coconut rice. Mmmmm.
The Senegalese red snapper stew is served with kachumbari and jasmine coconut rice is equally delicious. And that was what the man ordered today for brunch. A glass of light chenin blanc washed it all down beautifully. He also couldn't resist having a simple peanut butter cookie at the end of the meal.
We enjoy coming here because they welcome Choya, outdoors of course. The alleyway is shaded with plenty of plants. They bothered to put comfy pouffes for us, and also had two fans blowing in to cool us and chase away mozzies, making this very bearable for brunch even in the mid-day heat.
Our only problem — we can't order more food if it's just two people. I don't even have stomach for an appetizer, much less dessert. This restaurant's menu is best enjoyed with a table of four. But that's okay. We stop by often. We'll just come back with more people. Hurhurhur.
