Salted Eggs Bring Happiness

Got off work only at 10pm. I was HUNGRY. But I didn't need a ton of food. Nothing deep-fried and too greasy is allowed either. I never like eating something that would bring on a bout of IBS. Especially not at this hour.

The husband didn't bother eating early. He had a late lunch with the colleagues and kinda waited for me to have dinner. He took the dog along to pick me up, and we went off to have Teochew porridge. Hurhurhur.

The husband does like the assorted dishes at Teochew porridge stalls. They're just point-point rice things! Tonight, he wanted a snapper tail, bittergourd, cabbage, and his usual hae bee hiam. He likes chye buay. I don't. I like it as mui choi. They're not the same; they don't taste the same. Anyway tonight he took chye buay since I wasn't interested in mui choi. Heh.

Teochew porridge's porridge ain't satisfying to me. I like Cantonese-style CONGEE. Those mushy grains of rice with rice water isn't my favorite type of 'porridge', but it serves as a foil to soak up the oil and sodium. That would do. My stomach is fine with it. Happiness comes in the form of salted eggs and a minced pork patty. For added nutritional value, I ate the vegetables too. I don't often eat this late anymore, but at least I don't seem to get indigestion over meal timings. There, this was a late dinner that my stomach could actually digest and I could sleep before 1.30am.
