I dunno why we keep ending up at Korean restaurants when we meet. Bahahaha. Well, the location is accessible to all of us, and there're always easy choices on these menus. Tonight, we went to The House Chungdam on Duxton Road. It was quite amazing that we left with no greasy smells on our clothes or in our hair.
The lunch sets are apparently good. But since this was dinner, we didn't get those smaller options. We got the full a la carte menu which worked fine for us too. The menu is limited, but it would do fine. We couldn't resist the portion of beef tartare that the restaurant layered with avocado and cheese. Weird, but okay.
We picked the beef set for 2 pax (boneless short rib 100g, marinated ribeye cap 100g and thinly sliced brisket 200g) that came with banchan, soybean stew with tofu and beef, steamed egg and a plate of white kimchi. We didn't want to over-order. If we were still hungry, we could simply add on more food.
We requested the server to grill the meats for us instead of doing it ourselves. The portions were just right. Skipped the cold bibim noodles since my dining companions didn't want carbs. I asked for a bowl of rice since I couldn't help having the meat juices stain the rice ever so deliciously. Hehehe.
We made it to dessert. Had two bowls of bingsu — mango. I had a spoonful. The condensed milk was damn odd and sugary, so I left it alone. I had plenty of carbs and sugar from the rice, as well as the pint of house lager that was pretty refreshing.
