The friends took me out to dinner at Barrel Story of Hibiki. These dear friends are so sweet lah. They refused to let me order easy drinks. A bottle was to be had. We didn't want anything complicated. This is a Japanese bar afterall.
While Hibiki is the highlight, I wasn't too interested in sweet whisky. I didn't want to put out the friends by choosing a pricey bottle that does nothing for me. And a Bowmore 18 y.o isn't for everyone. The peat is not friendly. Tonight, we settled on a bottle of easy Yamazaki 12y.o. We asked for soda, and had it done as a highball. That made it less sweet for me, and it was easy to go down.
Don't bother to order any sushi or sashimi here. Those were just not up to par. Stick to the cooked and grilled items. The small bites were tasty too. We had loads of food, but what I really wanted to taste, was the chicken rice. Tehehehehe. They did it pretty well. The rice was delicious!
Couldn't resist having karasumi as 'dessert'. For the sake of the table, we had real sugar for dessert. There were two soft serves done with Hokkaido milk, and one with Okinawan sugar and caramel sauce. There was a candle placed atop one for ME. Wheeeeee.
Drinks and dinner and great company made for a fabulous evening. Luckily we had those anti-hangover pills prior, and we went home to have a stick of those Hanjan jelly for hydration. Hahahahahha.
