For some reason, Blu Kouzina at Dempsey serves up the most consistent food. The other outlets are just odd. Their grilled fish here is good; they offer a sea bass and a sea bream. I'd always pick the sea bream. I'm not too fond of sea bass generally. The kitchen still grills the sea bream nicely.
And for many years, they can never get their skewers right. All the meats on the skewers are simply too chewy and way too salty. So we never bother with skewers. Didn't do that tonight either. S wanted meat, so beef it was. A fillet mignon. We're not for cuts like ribeye or sirloin. So this cut works well for us. At 250g done medium, we were relieved that it actually arrived beautifully seared. That was superbly satisfying.
We also shared three dips with pita bread. Harissa, smoked eggplants and taramasalata — they always hit a spot. I almost wanted more pita bread to finish them up. Heh. S has a sweet tooth, so she wanted one bite of baklava. She made it to three bites. It was toothachingly sweet. OMG. I stuck to one bite and that was it.
