Sliced Ikan Batang in Hotpot

When N and S asked what the husband would like for his birthday dinner, he requested for sliced fish hotpot for dinner; N and S obliged. He also asked to sit outdoors, because the ventilation would be better, and the dog could come along. It was a no brainer to meet at Queen of Wok

We all woke up too early, and ended up taking an afternoon nap, and sleeping past time. Hahahah Our 6pm dinner became 6.45pm, which was fine. We couldn't eat at 6pm today. Stomachs were still asleep.

We had a table-full of food, but prudently ordered. We didn't want to have too-rich foods or be stuffed silly. The point is not to over-eat. That would be dumb. Batang fish would do nicely tonight for the hotpot. We didn't need grouper or pomfret. Added cabbage too. Had salted egg yolk tofu, sambal potato leaves, fried pork belly, and marmite chicken. Easy dishes. Yay!

When you have hotpot, there's no way we could have alcohol along with it. It's just too much liquid sloshing about! At dinner, we skipped the alcohol. After that, we didn't mind one drink. A nightcap then. We adjouned for a drink a few doors down. An easy bar. They had Glenfiddich 15 y.o. Perfect. We had had it on the rocks. We couldn't fit in any beer or Guinness. And we couldn't even sit down again. Our little tummies had ballooned. We had to stand to chat and sip our drinks. LOL
