It Went Well

When I got to the hospital to visit the man's mother, I was dismayed to see the silly oxygen tent in a corner. The nurse assured me that it was a good thing. I realized that it was ignored because it wasn't needed after the 10-hour angioplasty and stenting,  indicating that the patient was doing fine on her own.

This empty bed abandoned in the hallway was such a cheerful sight. His mother was wheeled away earlier in this bed for her operation. I couldn't imagine lying in it for so long. It must be very uncomfortable.

With the operation done, she was smoothly transferred to ICU. A team of medical professionals would look after her well. Freshly scrubbed, the lead doctor, weary but smiling, said it was a successful procedure and there was no indication of anything untoward. We're all very relieved. It's been worrying. After a couple of months, the health issues have been sorted out and the depressing moods can lift. Now, we can rest a little and have the recuperating process begin.
