At The Man's 33rd

Took the man out to a birthday lunch at Au Petit SalutAfter that, I had to bluff the man that there was a fashion fest event going on at Home and we should go see. Of course he fell for it. (It's the Singapore Fashion Festival! There are so many events going on!)

In fact, the friends and I had planned a surprise party for him. We precisely wanted to have this in the afternoon. Kinda an urban chill-out thingy. When we walked into Home, the friends yelled "Happy Birthday! Surprise!"

The look on his face was priceless. His jaw dropped. Totally. In that moment, my heart did a little leap. We got him!!! He was probably expecting a surprise dinner or late drinks. He was completely bowled over by this afternoon party!

He loved his (purple-dinosaur-holding-black-Tele) cake with a single star candle. He loves his presents. Every carefully-thought-of present is definitely a gift from the heart. He's super stoked that he's got door passes to events at the World Gourmet Summit.

The best part was really the friends who made it down for the party. Especially you girls who just had surgery, are both in recovery and still hobbled down. What started out as a whatever-party became a great chill out session. It was simply awesome, people.

You guys made his 33rd super memorable. We love you very much.

Cake is so original, love it! It sure takes a lot of effort to plan a surprise birthday party!

By the way, I just realised that your man shares the same birthday as my nephew, except that they are 32 years apart!

Wow that was really sweet of you! I don't think it has ever occurred to me to plan any surprises for Michael! I'm starting to feel guilty now haha!!

karmachameleon: don't! maybe he prefers no surprises in that way? you can start with a small-ish dinner with the friends or something?!
