There's something good about twitter and blogs. I get lots of information about where to eat. Aside from the online sources, the friends also highly recommend the fabulous cakes and desserts at Bea's of Bloomsbury.
So I made time to take a morning stroll and hop in to Bea's for a couple of breakfasts.
I'm not one for sweets at breakfast. I don't mind a slice of toast and jam or eggs. But not cupcakes. However, on the first visit, I was already sorely tempted to try one of those enticing pretty things at Bea's. Oh my, those cupcakes are quite a killer. They're not all sugar. The double chocolate cupcake totally floored me. So much so till I don't want to try any other flavors. The rest of those cupcakes look equally delicious.
I've been in the mood for lighter teas recently, something away from my usual lapsang souchong. Bea's uses Jing tea. I rather like the jasmine. The coffee isn't Monmouth Coffee of course. It's a lighter brew using Square Mile Coffee. The barista knows how to pull a good cuppa. Very decent indeed.
With the man away at work, I'm free to catch up with the friends or wander the city. I like quiet time. I need to soak in the vibes of this city and think. So sitting down to breakfast at Bea's is a nice way to start the day.
