The new protein on Chipotle's menu is vegan 'sofritas'. It's "shredded tofu braised with chipotle chillies, roasted poblanos and a blend of aromatic spices". Mmm. I definitely prefer tofu-ish things over beans.

Chipotle tested out the popularity of sofritas at several locations, starting with San Francisco Bay Area. Recalled that sofritas were tested in WA last November and December. I piled it onto the favored burrito bowl then. Loved it. Happy it's here to stay. After a year-long testing, sofritas are on the permanent menu nation-wide. Apparently, the fast food chain has never added an entirely new item to its menu in 20 years.

I love guac. Good commercial guac that's not easy to find at home. That's always the highlight of the meal at Chipotle. The serving of guac at its London outlets was paltry and frankly, a little sad. In the US, I eat at Chipotle whenever possible. This trip. Will also be full of pit-stops at a Chipotle. :D
