I really love how there's a gig happening almost every night somewhere in Seattle. Went out to see Say Anything and Bayside, and in process got a bonus of hearing new-to-me band, Reggie and the Full Effect; they opened the night. I didn't know anything about them. They were surprisingly fun! Not as bad as I thought. Hehehe.
It was a sold-out show. People really love Say Anything! Emo pop night lah. The audience crazy-danced-crazy-jumped to every song and knew all the lyrics! Basically Max Bemis is Say Anything. All the songs are about his anxieties and neuroses. But the band members change about fairly often, and the band I saw on stage tonight, was not very good. The bass was particularly annoying.
The friends came late, specially to watch Bayside. They managed to catch the last half of the other set. Happy that Bayside is tight, and honest. After all, the band has been around for 17 years and is no stranger to saying controversial statements. Hehehehe. They did a good hour-long set. As always, we were thrilled to catch up with the friends at the gig and more laughter went on at supper later.
