EAT at Groove CentralWorld

[This outlet has closed as of January 2018!!! That was fast.]

Went to EAT (It stands for 'Eat All Thai', opened by Supanniga Eating Room) at CentralWorld for a quick lunch and a respite from the downpour. It seems to offer a pretty similar menu. I don't visit Supanniga Eating Room enough to be able to tell the differences. For a restaurant located in tourist-town, and pricier dishes, the food's acceptable. My pandan lemongrass drink came chilled with no sugar. Sugar syrup was provided separately. Wonderful.

Oddly, the man and I didn't have much stomach capacity even though we were hungry. Three savory items and a bowl of rice would be more than enough to fill us up till an eight o'clock dinner. Crab curry with cha plu leaves (แกงเผ็ดเนื้อปูใบชะพลู; cha plu- ช้าพลู is wild betel leaves) and a spicy mixed vegetable broth with shrimps (แกงเลียงกุ้งสด, 'gaeng lieang gung sod') arrived hot and nicely seasoned. No complaints there. The curry and broth were fantastic to go along with grilled pork collar and brown rice. However, you need to request for the kitchen to use 'less oil' for your food. We forgot, and our cabbage, while crisp, came drenched in a pool of oil that couldn't be considered gravy.

All I really wanted, was that fried salted egg. You know how I don't normally take yolks of salted eggs? I ATE THE YOLK OF THIS ONE. It was divine. Almost ordered a second egg. Hurhurhur. I could just have the egg, the chillies and fish sauce, and call it a meal. Mmmm. ไข่เค็มทอดเป็นสิ่งที่ฉันชอบ! ฉันเกือบสั่งอีกครั้งหนึ่ง 😍

@coboypb: I only see it outside of SG where duck eggs are plentiful and allowed.
