The book cover is too cute. A shiba-inu?!! I'm reading this! Written and illustrated by by 71-year-old comedian and television host Takeshi Kitano (also known as 'Beat Takeshi'), it kinda translates into 'Gon-chan, see you later!' (2018).
In an interview with the Asahi Shimbun in March 2018, Beat Takeshi said he was inspired by the stray dogs he met as a child,
The picture book talks about the relationship between protagonist freelance writer Norihiro Noriyuki and his Shiba-Inu named Gon (作家志望の則之と柴犬のゴン), whom he takes along to work interviewing people. Honestly the illustrations are way more fun than paying attention to the story/stories. They're just little tales of everyday living with a dog, human loneliness and companionship. Quite cute.
