Drinks At The BFF's

The BFF hosted a casual Christmas potluck dinner party and we all brought over rather filling items (carbs). Satay, otah, biryani, plus all-time-happy party appetizers of chips, salsa, excellent saucisson and cheese. A fair enough fusion version in Singapore. Yup, we voted and made arrangements about who would bring what foods. None of us needed turkey or ham and all those usual heavy traditional Christmas foods or log cakes, fruit cakes and puddings. There would be more to come in the next few weeks. Skipping those would give our stomachs a rest.

The BFF was supposed to bake kale chips. BUT, BECAUSE SHE WAS DOING FIVE OTHER THINGS AT THE SAME TIME, SHE BURNT THE WHOLE TRAY. Never mind. Luckily for her, chips in vacuum-sealed packs have been invented. There were loads of food, and while kale chips would be nice, we didn't need them to supplement dinner lah. Plenty of wine, whisky and gin flowed freely into our glasses. We didn't decimate her supplies, but we made a fair dent in them.

The table continued with 'Joking Hazard' all the way till something like 3am; I'd love to have played it, but it would have been a slippery slope. I wouldn't be able to extricate myself. Hahaha. Took my leave at 11pm. Needed to get some sleep before an early start on Sunday morning. But yeah,  it was comforting to stay in and get loads of laughter while the rain pelted down outside. What a good night!
