Finally made my way to Tapas, 24 for dinner with Choya. The restaurant has been opened for a while, but each time I wanted to go, the weather hadn't cooperated, till tonight. It was hot but windy enough, making the floor dry and clean-enough for Choya to laze on.
It isn't often that I'm in the mood for a heavy meal, and Spanish food is heavy. We initially ordered only three items, then the BFF decided to pop in after her crazy shopping schedule for the new flat. Yay. Hadn’t seen her for weeks since she went off and returned from her dive trip to Bali. So we ordered more, and she could take the bulk of the food. Hahaha.
We had the loveliest gazpacho to start. I almost wanted a second serving! We had Padrón peppers, mató con tomate, patatas bravas, croquettas de jamón, Spanish tortilla Mallorcan-style, roasted eggplant with cured sausages and a seafood paella. Had a jug of red sangria to go with the meal.
The restaurant's fried items were mediocre, and I felt that they did better with the paella and non-fried items. I would definitely return to try other dishes, and definitely for the gazpacho and paella. Restaurants that welcome dogs officially and serve up good food ought to be supported with our repeat visits.
