I don't require things done to the body. I believe in keeping up with exercise and streamlining the diet to keep it healthy. As it gets tuned, the skin will do just fine, along with muscles and strength maintained. But for the face, I get a little lazy. I generally do the MedLite C6 laser treatment on the face as maintenance through the year. Giving the budget for the face to the skin clinic is the best thing I've done in years. I'd prefer to do this laser-thingy at the skin clinic four times a year. It saves me time and loads of effort.
As it is, I've skipped going to facials at beauty salons (not that I was doing it regularly anyway), and also don't keep up with slapping on facial masks at home. I cannot be bothered. It's too much time wasted. My daily skincare ritual in the mornings and before bedtime is basic. Wash and moisturize. Two steps, two bottles. I don't even bother with a toner. I've no interest in primping, make-up or whatever skincare and beauty regimen and products. :P I've also passed on pricey beauty products and stuck to dependable items from the pharmaceutical line that wouldn't make the skin flare or the eyes swell.
The dermatologist takes care of my face. I see her four to six times a year for a regular laser treatment. I decided to switch it up a bit. I allowed my dermatologist to talk me into doing an BTL Exilis Ultra 360™ treatment on the face. (Thermage is similar.) Well, I trust her. It's a non-invasive, no downtime skin tightening treatment using radio frequency and thermal waves. I honestly think I don't need it yet, but I'm curious to see how it's like. I stick to my 'no injections, and no laser peels' for now.
Of course I did my own homework first before turning up at the clinic for the first Exilis treatment. Ultrasound gel was slathered onto my face, then the wand came on. It felt like a nice hot stone treatment. If it got too hot, more ultrasound gel could simply layered on. I was done in 40 minutes. It was pretty comfortable.
I honestly don't know if there's any discernible different to the face. I can't tell. I don't have much wrinkles yet. Intensive Exilis treatments would be done for maybe four times a month, but I don't need that currently. Hurhurhur. Anyway, I'll do maybe three more treatments and see how it goes. Or mesh it up with the usual MedLite C6 15-minute session. That should cover all skincare requirements without messing up my daily two-step skincare routine.
