I don't always need a body massage. I think the spiral and rotation in pilates and gyrotonic made it unnecessary. The muscles sort themselves out; and no HIIT knots persist. If I do need a body massage, I'd be needing a chiropractor, an osteopath or a sports therapist. 🤪 I appreciate foot rubs a lot more. A 90-minute session is good for me. Either I take the full 90 minutes of foot rub, or I ask to include 30 minutes of shoulder and back massage. It really depends on how I feel. Also, I wonder about monkeypox, and how contagious it might be. At massage salons and spas, this is, close contact.
After not bothering with foot rubs during the pandemic lockdowns, I finally resumed them this year. I don't bother with fancy spas, I go to this conveniently located Imperial Apple Spa at both Tras Street and at Handy Road. Natureland's locations and services also work well for me. I'm surprised that both brands kept the remaining sessions of my purchased packages through the two years and didn't levy extra charges for the usage now. That's really decent of them.
I rarely have 90 minutes to spare this way. So I don't plan ahead too much. If and when I can, I simply call up either spa a day before, or even on the day itself to see if there's a slot for me. I don't have specific therapists to work on my feet, so it makes it easier. I don't seem to run into many people while having foot rubs at my preferred timings, and I usually get a private hall. That meant I also get to have the television screen to myself. Sometimes, I don't bother about it, but on some days I don't mind browsing the titles. Besides Netflix, one spa subscribes to HBO GO, a channel which I don't have. Hahaha.
That day in a darkened room for a 90-minute foot rub, I put on 'Folklore' Season 1, an Asian horror anthology with two seasons, all of which I haven't watched. The only problem- it wasn't a satisfying watch because I barely finished three episodes. I skipped a lot of S1Ep1 (about a Javanese Wewe Gombel) because that was really boring. Each episode's run-time is 60 minutes and I loathed to do the 'forward' function on shows like this. (That function works fantastic for shows I need to watch for uhhhhh work and melodramas.) Season 2 looks promising. Ah well. Hahaha. If I really want to, I'll eventually hunt down 'Folklore' on other platforms.
