Seng House Is Now Paws-Friendly

Stopped by Seng House three weeks ago, but they had stopped being pet-friendly then without a proper licence, and were in the middle of waiting for the SFA/AVS pets-allowed licence to come through. They indicated that they should be ready to welcome us back end of the month. And they did. They're totally legit paws-friendly now. When a business takes the effort to get a licence and serves up good food, we're there.

Made a reservation for 11.15am. You oughta book. They're mad crowded on weekends. I like the outdoor tables because it's sheltered and there're overhead fans at least have moving air in the area. Today was windy, so it was sooo comfortable. We went for a long walk in the morning before this brunch. Smol Girl is happy to stay out all day because she ate breakfast already and isn't starving. All she needed was chilled water and to rest after a hot and humid run.

Seng House has such a fun menu! For now, it has the usual cafe food items of hearty steak sandwiches, eggs and toast, and açai bowls, but they also had good fish (haddock) and chips, claypot chicken rice and Hainanese pork chop and oxtail stew on mash. Wheeeeeeee.

The man ordered the oxtail stew on mash. He said it was classic and well braised. The mash was plain and unsalted. I thought it a bit thin. But yes, it was supposed to go with the gravy and all, so it made for an overall healthier but no less tasty dish. The man got to dessert. He declared the durian creme brûlée "wonderful!" It wasn't for me, obviously. LOL I opted for a dessert of a second cup of piccolo.

I was going to order the açai bowl, then I spotted claypot chicken rice. I couldn't resist, and uncharacteristically ordered it. OH MAN, I HAD NO REGRETS. THAT RICE WAS AWESOME. The brown bits at the bottom were the best.
